We Built Prompt Academy Together. But We Did Not Do the Same Job.
The story did not begin with a perfect prompt. It began with not knowing asking questions and learning one new concept at a time.
Begin the Story ↓
People often assume that building Prompt Academy began with AI.
It did not.
It began with something much simpler.
I did not even know the difference between a domain and hosting.
I only knew that I wanted to build a website
At that time I knew only one thing.
I wanted to build a website.
That was all.
I had no background in web development. I had never managed hosting. I did not know that a custom web address is called a domain.
I did not know that the place where a website is stored is called hosting.
These are basic terms for web developers.
For me they were completely new.
Sometimes one short conversation changes everything
The conversation did not solve the problem. It gave me the language I needed to begin understanding the problem.
The first question I could not answer
I remember asking a friend who had experience building faculty websites for advice.
He immediately asked:
Have you purchased your domain and hosting?
I paused.
I honestly did not know how to answer.
Not because I wanted to hide anything.
I simply did not know what those words really meant.
I did not receive all the answers
That short conversation became an important turning point.
For the first time I had the right vocabulary to begin learning.
Sometimes learning does not begin with knowing the answer.
Sometimes it begins with discovering the right question.
Domain
The custom address people use to reach a website.
Hosting
The space where the website and its content are stored.
WordPress
The platform that would eventually become the home of Prompt Academy.
Every unfamiliar term became something to explore
What is a domain?
What is hosting?
Why do I need both?
How are they connected?
A patient learning companion
Those questions led to more conversations with ChatGPT.
Not because ChatGPT replaced my learning.
It became a patient learning companion that was always ready to explain one more concept answer one more question and help me understand one more step.
What ChatGPT contributed at this stage
Prompt Academy began by building understanding
Looking back I realise that Prompt Academy was never just about building a website.
It was about building understanding.
Before I could build a website I had to build my understanding.
Perhaps that is why I believe knowledge always comes before building.
Just as it comes before prompting.
